ちょっとした事を書いていきたいと思います。
日本語と英語を書きます。

数学の勉強で新しい研究のことを考えていました。
I was thinking about a new reasearch in mathematics.
最初は、昔の数学者アンドレ・ヴェイユの英語の論文を和訳にしながら、数学をしました。
The first topic was to study mathematics while translating into Japanese from the English papers of André Weil, an old mathematician.
結合法則や可換法則を学びました。
結合法則とは、x+(y+z)=(x+y)+zのようなもので、可換法則はx+y=y+xというものです。
We learned about associative laws and commutative laws.
An associative law is something like x+(y+z)=(x+y)+z, and a commutative law is something like x+y=y+x.
英語の単語で、和訳にした時と数学的に訳した時の意味が違いました。
例えば、"unique"という言葉が出てきました。
There are many English words that has a different meaning when translated into Japanese than when translated mathematically.
For example, the word "unique" came up.
この単語を"不思議な"に訳しましたが、先生は「これは”ただ一つ”という意味だよ。」と教えてくれました。
I translated this word as "mysterious," but the teacher said, "It means "one and only.'' " he said.
確かに、他にもそういう単語がありました。"operation"もその一例です。
日本語では、手術の「オペ」という意味ですが、数学では「演算」という意味です
Of course, there were other words like that as well. "operation" is one example. In Japanese, it means "operation" in surgery, but in mathematics it means "calculation."
次は、先生が教えている生徒さんの論文を自分が解きました。
The next topic I worked on was solving papers written by other students who is studying mathematics from the teacher.
その論文は、非常に難しく自分も理解するのに約１週間かかりました。
この論文は完全数の応用で、自分も今研究の視野に入れています。
The paper was extremely difficult and it took me about a week to understand it. This paper is an application of perfect numbers, which I am currently considering in my research.
また新しい定理や予想ができたらいいなと思っています。
